Singapore Business Federation and VietCham Singapore organized the second annual joint event last Monday 10 April 2017 on the theme of “Innovative Solutions for Smart Cities”. The event that took place at Robinson Road SBF Centre received outstanding feedbacks from near 100 participants and attendees who found the entire event very informative and the networking session, equally beneficial.

Six VietCham members flew in from Vietnam for the event and one from Czech Republic, including our two sponsors, namely Vietnamese top-end real estate developer Tai Nguyen Group, and Cheb Beer Group.

The four speakers were representatives from reputable organizations: Mr. Nguyen Son Vien (Vice Chair of Board of Directors, Vietcham Singapore, and Partner of London-headquartered United First Partners Group), Ms. Monika Nguyen Nam (Director of G8FDI, Consultant of Becamex Binh Duong), Mr. Jason Tai (Head of Analytic Services, Y3 Technologies Ptd. Ltd.), Mr. Ong See Hai (Senior Consultant, Cephas Development Pte. Ltd.). The high quality presentations covered various aspects and multiple layers of the Smart City theme including the future path in urban planning, the role of technologies, new approaches in the development of Binh Duong Smart Region, and the enabling component behind it all, the logistics sector.

After a Q&A session, invited guests enjoyed a long and most friendly networking session to exchange ideas and new business opportunities while tasting some typical Vietnamese food as well as beer kindly offered by Cheb Beer Group.

Another joint SBF-VietCham “Smart Cities” event will be hosted next year, this time with more guests and new businesses for greater economic opportunities. This is one of the many opportunities VietCham organizes on a regular basis to help Vietnamese businesses to develop their network and relationship with Singapore businesses. At this event, VietCham introduced to the network additional 20 companies, and hope to develop more opportunities for all its members as the organization grows.

Our joint event was also featured on VTV4, a renowned news channel operated by Vietnam Television (VTV)
